Saying “avoid catastrophic economic results” doesn’t make one into an authority on the subject. More than likely such a person doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Who is qualified to foresee that which could cause or avoid catastrophic economic results, you? Anyone can be a prophet of doom, it seems. One in a million might get it right, but not because of any extraordinary ability to see the future.
Catastrophic economic results to a socialist would be drastically different from that of capitalist or even others who might differ more in their economic philosophy. So, talking about a “plan that avoids catastrophic economic results” serves no purpose other than to make the person saying it feel important.
